Hey... I Still Exist!

Ladies and gentlemen, it's been a while!

Where to begin? So far we've done the readings for Cuckoo's nest and we've had one blocking rehearsal. Ralph Moreno of 96.1 KSIQFM is our director. Not Mr. C. Weird. But he's doin' good. Mr. C is the producer. And he appointed me to do costumes. WTF? Whatever. I'll have fun with it I guess.

Ooh! On Thursday, the hospital had it's annual charity gala! This years theme was Opening Night on Broadway and Kayday Pricola asked me to greet people in full tuxedo gear and (here's the kicker!) spontaneously burst into song! Well, it ended up being that I only sang once... at the microphone. But I have to admit it was awesome. Someone Like You from Jekyll and Hyde A Capella! I nailed it. And I got "really long" applause and some amazing compliments. The best part of the night, however, was sitting next to Amy Byrd! What a woman! I don't know if I can explain everything... but I'll just say she brought a flask and borrowed my Dr. Pepper at one point. As some random woman exclaimed after the dinner, "Amy Byrd, you are a damn sexy woman!" I got many tipsy embraces from that bundle of fun. My new favorite person!

On Friday night, I went to the Cattle Call Queen Coronation. As was expected, Alexis Brown was crowned, with Alisa Taylor and Amanda Leckband as 1st and 2nd princesses. Now, here's my beef. The speeches sucked! Horrible. And I wrote Amanda a killer speech that would have won it for her. She didn't use it. Instead, she wrote some stupid guardian angel speech.

And Sarah O'Brien, the freshman I've been speech coaching for the Teen Queen contest, didn't win. Nevertheless, I am so proud of her. She's a wonderful young woman. She's amazing on a horse and she had an awesome speech.

What else??? I finally sent off my interview questions to Edward Albee specialists for my Senior Paper.

I have an essay test on Gulliver's Travels tomorrow that I need to study for.

I need to write my questions for Mock Trial tomorrow morning.

Mr. C told me I could direct next semester's play.

Um... I started applying to colleges! I'm filling out my USC application. So far, my list is:

USC, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, UCLA, Carnegie Mellon, CSU Northridge, CSU Fullerton. I'm also looking into Northwestern. If anyone has ideas for schools with good theatre programs, let me know!

Well, I've got to get some sleep. Keep reading!
